KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.40 g, 12 h), Pella, struck under Antipater, Polyperchon or Kassander, circa 323/2-316/5. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠ-ΟΥ oung jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, Α; below left foreleg, grasshopper to right. Le Rider 483 (D243/R398). SNG ANS -. Very rare. Lightly toned and perfectly centered on a broad flan, a beautiful piece. Light marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
